The Toronto Maple Leafs‘ game on Sunday will go ahead as scheduled after a small fire resulted in the suspension of a Toronto Raptors game. The Raptors confirmed the necessary repairs to an overhead speaker that caught fire in the Scotiabank Arena will be made in time for the Maple Leafs’ game against the Florida Panthers.

Fans were ordered to leave the Scotiabank Arena with a little over four minutes left in the first half during Saturday’s NBA clash between the Raptors and the Indiana Pacers. The Toronto Fire Department attended the scene and confirmed nobody was injured, though the arena was cleared as a precautionary measure. Play eventually resumed without fans in attendance, with the Raptors stating this was down to “an abundance of caution”.

A subsequent update from the Raptors confirmed that Sunday’s NHL meeting between the Maple Leafs and the Panthers will be able to go ahead as planned.
